Five Days/ Four Nights Ngorongoro Trekking

Day 1:

We will pick you up from your hotel at 0800 and depart for Ngorongoro Crater, descending for game viewing and a tour of the crater with a picnic lunch in the crater. Ascend to the rim and Nainokanoka Village campsite where you have dinner and overnight., You may hike to Olmoti Crater and Mungu Waterfalls today before dinner if you arrive by 3 PM. Meal Plan: L, D

Day 2:

After breakfast, begin trekking to Empakai Crater where you will have dinner and overnight at the campsite there. All gear, food and water will be carried by donkeys and driven by a Maasai warrior (8 1/2 hrs, 25.5 Km). Meal Plan: B, L, D

Day 3:

After exploring the crater for a few hours, continue trekking to Naiyobi Village. (5 hrs, 10 Km) You will continue on to Acacia Camp (1 hr, 3 Km) for dinner and overnight to shorten the last day of trekking Meal Plan: B, L, D.

Day 4:

Trek from Acacia Camp to Lake Natron, viewing Oldoinyo Lengai on the way. The vehicle will be waiting at the base of Lengai by 1030 AM to drive you the rest of the way to Lake Natron You will have dinner and overnight at Lake Natron Campsite. Be sure to visit Engare Sero Gorge and the waterfall while at Lake Natron. (3-4 hrs, 10 Km). Meal Plan: B, L, D

Day 5:

Continue with activities at Lake Natron may tour the waterfalls at Engare Sero Gorge and visit the Lake until about noon, when you will depart for your return trip to Arusha. Transfer to your hotel. Meal Plan: B, L.

Included:

Transport to and from Arusha, services of guide and cook, all park and accommodation fees, ranger fees, meals per itinerary, 4 L mineral water per day, services of donkeys to carry food and gear, and Maasai warrior to guide them and all camping gear.

Not included:

Tip for your guides and cook, soft drinks, alcohol or personal items. Guide to climb Ol Doinyo Lengai is not included ( $70 per person) as we do not recommend doing it at this time as the last eruptions and earthquakes have made the climb and descent extremely dangerous. It is suitable only for experienced rock climbers used to steep ascents and descents, If you choose to climb Oldoinyo Lengai , it is entirely at your own risk.
